Karma

People that I read for often bring up the idea of "karma" in terms of what we sow in one lifetime, and the resulting reaping that happens in the next. This is not necessarily the case. "As you sow, so do you reap" is true, however it is not always punishments from the past, or even lessons or patterns carried forward from past lives. In fact, we chose our circumstances of family, and the participation in certain lessons or types of drama in order to have soul growth. We do have free will. Just because we agree to incarnate into circumstances that will advance our soul's development, does not necessarily mean that we did something awful that we are trying to make up for in this lifetime. Part of the learning process is choosing NOT to go onto a more harmful or destructive path. Karma is not about punishment, karma is about the soul's growth. We have everything to do with advancing our own awareness and development. It's all about love, forgiveness, compassion and understanding.....for ourselves as well as for others.
