Our soul's journeys are not preordained.  They are determined by the choices that we make throughout our lifetimes.  If our lives were predetermined there would be no reason to experience our lives here on earth.  When we have people or events that are "destined" that is just the beginning of it.  Now we use our free will to make the choices, as well as the other people involved.  Although this seems complicated, it really isn't.  Let's say that two people are "destined" to meet.  If both chose to form a relationship, then, that relationship was destined, and chosen by both people's free will, to become a working relationship.  If however, one of these people chose not to engage in a relationship it can not develop.  Destiny, through Karmic ties, put us all together in different ways at different times.  Your free will must also agree with an other's in order for a love match to occur.  You can't "will" a relationship to develop.  You can use your free will to encourage it along, but then, you must respect the other soul's free will and decision.
